The rapid growth of online shopping has significantly transformed the retail landscape, posing substantial challenges to traditional retail stores. This study investigates the impact of online shopping on conventional retail businesses in Jhunjhunu district by analyzing responses from 100 local retailers. The research identifies key issues such as declining customer footfall, reduced sales, increased price competition, and the necessity for adopting digital strategies like home delivery and online orders. Findings reveal that 55% of retailers reported reduced customer visits, while 57% observed a decline in sales. Nearly half have responded by lowering prices and offering more discounts to remain competitive. Furthermore, 51% have started providing modern services to match consumer expectations. ANOVA analysis confirms that these challenges are consistent across different types of retail stores, indicating a widespread effect of e-commerce. The study concludes that traditional retailers must adapt by integrating online tactics, enhancing customer experience, and modernizing their operations to sustain in a digitally driven marketplace.
